I just had an awesome idea.
In England, they burn effigies of Guy Fawkes on the day devoted to his hanging.
I think we should adopt something similar. Would it not be awesome to burn an effigy of a classic British red-coated soldier to symbolize America's independence?
The only problem I can find with this idea is that most citizens of this nation are too ignorant of it's history to appreciate the symbolism.State Of Mind:  amused

And to all of you Americans, happy 4th! Have a happy and safe one.
I, for one will be enjoying federal holiday (time-and-a-half) pay for the day, and working it. Not that I had a choice in the matter, mind you.
Though I'm not a crazy flag-worshiping nutjob, I do care about this country. The 4th of July is one of the few holidays I still actually give a shit about.
